Master Lessons on Musical Interpretation
at the Elementary Level
The shaping forces of music combine in myriad patterns that create the intrigue and delights of
the Art of Music. In this DVD, Mary Gae George gives a series of nine master lessons for
teachers, parents, adult students, and pedagogy classes showing the inner workings of these
patterns at the elementary level.
In this 2-hour film, Mary Gae explains and demonstrates the importance of providing
elementary students of any age with miniature masterworks like those that distinguish Artistry
at the Piano, the course she wrote with her late husband, Jon George.
Her live “lecture recital” is expanded by two of Mary Gae’s most recent PDF books. You will find
these two informative pedagogy books included on this DVD you purchased. These two books
are also available online for purchase by students, pedagogy classes, and Music Teachers
Associations who have not yet purchased the DVD. Click here to view details
What most sets apart Artistry at the Piano from the other piano methods on the
current market is its beautiful music which is latent in its potential to awaken
musical understanding and expressivity in the student. Master Lessons on
Musical Interpretation at the Elementary Level is a guide to helping the teacher
look deeply into the musical score and then guide the student from the very
beginning of his studies into a fuller understanding of the music and the resulting
possibilities for personal expression in its interpretation.

This DVD is beautifully presented! As usual, everything is done with the artistry
we have come to associate with Artistry at the Piano.
This DVD is a wonderful way to provide insights into the process of creating a
musical performance. It can be used during a group class for students attending a
summer camp, or it can be a way to inspire teachers new to the Artistry books. It
can refresh those of us who have been using these wonderful materials for over
30 years now. Parents certainly can be included in the audience since they are
our extra eyes and ears at home.
I am certain that this DVD, along with the two PDF books by Mary Gae, will be a
marvelous opportunity to share your teaching gifts with so many other aspiring
musicians.
