 NEW PERFORMANCE CDs AVAILABLE
Every music book in the course now has a CD

We are excited to announce that every music book in Artistry at the Piano now has a Performance CD to guide and encourage students in their daily practice.

There are over 200 miniature masterworks in the course designed to help students learn the beautiful language of music. They will learn to "speak" this language better and sooner using these Performance CDs.

Each of the five new CDs is inserted in its corresponding book. You may also purchase any CD separately for students who already have a book but do not have its CD.

The Perfect Supplement for Transfer Students
Three books in one

PATTERNS FOR PIANO cover
Teachers who know this book are delighted that it is now back in print. If you do not know this invaluable book, we urge you to order a copy soon so you can decide how best to use it this year in your teaching. You will be glad you did.

Transfer students often need remedial work in many areas of study, including sight playing, analysis, and memorizing. This book provides a clear introduction to the "grammar" of the musical language through pattern principles presented in pieces starting in the elementary level on through to the upper intermediate level. For more advanced transfer students, you can use the elementary pieces for sight playing and memorizing projects, as well as the rest of the book for the remedial work they need.

The pieces also serve as performance literature. Two of them will be featured in the new DVD we just finished filming last night! Watch for that new DVD in October.

WHAT WE FOUND AT THE MTAC CONVENTION
We had a lovely display booth at the MTAC convention in Riverside, California, and we enjoyed meeting many teachers in attendance.

It was here that we found a new and valuable teaching aid developed by the mother of a gifted student. Clara Castano put together three different sets of Learning cards at three different levels -- elementary, intermediate and advanced. These nine sets of cards present the ABCs of Keyboard Musicianship. Each card has a riddle on the front, often complete with an illustration, and the answer to the riddle on the back. The students in our Summer Music Camps loved them, and we recommend them to you on this basis!

A SHORT PEDAGOGY ARTICLE ON ACHIEVING  ARTISTIC PERFORMANCE.

Artistic performance is an essential aspect of reading and playing music, but it is too often seen as a separate and teacher-directed study. From the first lesson onward, give students the tools for exercising their artistic imagination. . .
